Circle Dance
Dancing in a circle is an ancient tradition common to many cultures. Its purpose is to celebrate the cycles of life, to connect with nature and the elements, and to bond communities. Modern Circle Dance draws ón the folk dance traditions of Europe but also includes recently choreographed dances.

The dances may be lively and energetic or slow and meditative. No previous dance experience is necessary and Circle Dance is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

The aim is to experience the joy of dancing!

The Merry Trio

The Merry Trio consists of three very competent and well respected Irish traditional musicians, Liam Purcell, Dick Barton and Michael Tubridy, who have been playing together either as a trio or in other combinations with other musicians for the past 30 years or more. They play mainly for dancing, Set Dancing, Céilí Dancing or Solo Step Dancing. Liam plays chromatic accordion and comes from Co Roscommon, from an area renowned for the quality of its musicians. Dick plays banjo and comes from Co Laois and was born into a very musical family. Michael plays flute and comes from Co Clare, and grew up playing music and dancing sets. The blended sound from these three very different instruments makes for pleasant music to listen to as well as to dance to.
